Meet the team

  • Dr.
    Kamran Jahangir
    DVM

    Dr. Kamran has been working in Veterinary Medicine since 2001. He works in Internal Medicine and Surgery of dogs, cats, small birds, and rodents. His field of interest is soft tissue surgery.He was brought up with many different pets: dogs, cats, rabbits, parrots, and a falcon. He lives with his wife, two children, and canaries.

    Jay Mengi
    DVM

    Dr Jay has been working in Veterinary Medicine since 2012. He works in Internal Medicine and Surgery of dogs and cats. He has a particular interest in preventive medicine. Dr Jay came to BSAH after working in the northern parts of Ontario for a few years, and brings with him new approaches to common ailments.He shares his home with his wife and two small dogs, Marble and Mia (pictured).

    Rosetta Parker

    Dr. Rosetta Parker has been working in veterinary medicine since 2014. She was born and raised in Nova Scotia and graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island. Now living in Eastern Ontario with her husband Russ, dog Allie, and three cats. Dr. Parker enjoys travelling and volunteering her time with Spay/Neuter programs in Central America. Her passion is helping families keep their fur babies healthy and preventative medicine.

  • Amelia Gallant
    RVT

    Amelia graduated from Sheridan College in 2016 and shortly after became a Registered Veterinary Technician with the OAVT. She has a passion for oral care and weight management among companion animals.

    Amelia lives with Aura, a little feline angel, who she adopted from an animal shelter during her time at college.

  • Kristina Prasil
    RVT

    Kristina graduated with a BSc in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa in 2014. She worked in human medicine for a year before finding her true calling: working with animals. In 2017, she graduated from Algonquin College’s Veterinary Technician program and soon after became an RVT. Kristina began her veterinary career working in emergency medicine before finding a place with Bank Street Animal Hospital. She is passionate about emergency medicine and critical care and hopes to one day specialize in those fields. She is owned by a rambunctious sled dog rescue from Iqaluit named Massa.

About our Registered Veterinary Technicians

Our Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) are an integral part of the team caring for your pet. RVTs perform many duties at Bank Street Animal Hospital, including intake exams, preparing and administering medications and fluids, monitoring anesthesia, performing dental cleanings, obtaining blood samples, running laboratory tests, assisting in surgeries, obtaining radiographs, and communicating with clients. All of our RVTs have graduated from an OAVT-accredited program, and have passed the Veterinary Technician National Examination to become registered in Canada.
